Getting started in a daily exercise program can be a daunting task. After all, after you finish a full day’s work, cook dinner, rush the kids to wherever they have to go and then pick them back up, who has time for exercise?
Exercise Plan and Routine
It’s tough to think about exercising with all life’s other things to do, but it’s an important part of your day, week, and month that you need to start planning and making part of your daily routine. But how?
Start Small and Develop into a Larger Exercise Routine
As with anything else new in our lives, getting started is the most challenging part. This is also where plenty of people fail. They try to do too much too soon. Your initial goal should simply be getting an exercise routine in place.
A simple daily activity that is easily achievable is a daily walk. Whether it’s first thing in the morning, during your lunch, or after work, begin walking daily to just make it part of your routine. It doesn’t have to be anything extravagant; start with a simple walk around the block.
After about two weeks, you will notice that your daily walk no longer seems like a chore to do, but rather an activity that you enjoy doing every day. Now that you have it in place, decide whether you want to add more to your exercise program and how you want to go about adding to your routine.
