My Author Journey-IV

By: Brenda Mcdaniel

This article is about more marketing techniques. And setting up your book funnels. Which are your different pages or websites. You first need your primary book website. In my case I started with a  book page on Facebook called MyAngelMyHero@Snowe333. On this page to reach my major audience, (now 4,900). I posted various content. As I said earlier, it included such content as articles, short stories, art, poetry and music. This content varied, I wrote on the pandemic, attack on our democracy, Christian stories, poetry etc. I also included other author books, poets, and musical sites. Once my main page was started. I began my own private website. One on WordPress with less restrictions. In case Facebook took away my site for rules violation. And I also started a separate WordPress blog. It had various content and updates about my blog.

Also on Facebook I started my newsletter, hoping to get feedback on my content, book, and a bigger audience. Putting a comment section on it for feedback from my follower’s. The newsletter site is https://m.facebook.com/mcdansbooks/. The primary thing in marketing is getting an audience by providing content that interests your group of follower’s. Facebook did a great job in giving insights of my pages. They let me know who my audience was , (women 40-60). So I could decide on the type of marketing. And helped me with new ways to market my pages. Since I have a big following on Facebook and LinkedIn. I see no reason right now to develop an email list of follower’s. WordPress helps in this also. But for those author’s starting out a website and email list is vital. And so is the landing page, (comment, offer, sales page). This is where the final purchase is made or comments are placed. You need to have a great offer, (book, content), in order to make the sale.

In further articles, I will talk about more marketing techniques. And how you can make your book better. And most important we’re going to talk about Amazon algorithms and better ranking on Google.

  1. Great article, Brenda. I found it very helpful to navigate my “new found world”. My problem is time. I know I have to make time for marketing my book and I do but I feel it is not enough. I have other commitments that are equally important such as service to my community, not mentioning family demands. Somehow I have to sit down and prioritize all these demands. Good luck. And thanks again for your review of “Broken and Beloved”. Plus posting it on your website and newsletter.

  2. This is very interesting – I have not heard of publishing a newsletter on FaceBook… you know, technology advances around us all the time and so many tools for us to utilize, as soon we learn of them and develop the skills. Thank you for mentioning the FaceBook Newsletter, I’m so curious about how this works and I will definitely make time in my schedule to learn 🙂
